Come? Perciò cosa state aspettando?
Let’s imagine an Irish sunny Sunday… ok it’s not easy to have a clear sunny day in this beautiful country! But if you have the chance – as it happened to us- to have a day like this during your stay, we suggest a day trip around Dublin. Why don’t you take this occasion to do some alternative shopping in a typical tiny food market? And if we tell you that this market takes place in a magical village overlooking the ocean? What could you ask for more? Today we want to bring you in Howth, a small village at about one hour by train from Dublin (do you remember our post about this village?). And our post deals with the farmer market that in the last 10 years takes place there every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m to 5 p.m, in the small square along Harbour Road, renovated in 2013 and reserved to this market. There you will find about twenty stalls with friendly, cheerful local traders ready to propose you local, fresh, organic food. From fruit and vegetables to bread and typical cheese, to end up with the stalls which sell sweets and cakes that will capture your attention as a pleasure both for your eyes and for your mouth. How? When you will be in front of one of these stands (according to us the best is “Buns”) you will understand: loads of beautiful mini cupcakes, coloured macarons and several different types of fudge with a great smell … everything is too good-looking and yummy to be eaten! So here, everything is different, good and genuine: you will smell home-made and healthy food in the air. What makes the Howth Farmers Market different from all the others is the fact that it promotes the diffusion of Irish organic food, 100% made in Ireland. So what are you waiting for? If you want to “taste” the real Ireland, if you’re looking for an original idea for a present (you will also find a few stalls that sell jewels, antiques and original items), or if you just want to experience the magical atmosphere of Howth, this is the place to be. So take your backpack (or should we say you shopping bag?) and be ready to start this sensorial adventure."
