Situato nel cuore del Barrio del Carmen, il quartiere più pittoresco della città, Maria Mandiles è una vera e propria oasi di pace per tutti quei viaggiatori che come noi vogliono allontanarsi dal caos cittadino e immergersi completamente nell'atmosfera frizzante della città spagnola. Situato all'angolo tra Calle del Padre Huerfanos e Plaza de Manises (il numero è il 2), vi sarà impossibile non notare questo piccolo ma accogliente ristorantino con cucina casalinga, la cui insegna rappresenta un'amorevole nonnina intenta a sferruzzare.. Perchè difficilmente riuscirete a resistere ad un arredamento unico, fatto di colori caldi, stoviglie in terracotta, coperte in patchwork sparse qua e la che vi faranno sentire come se foste a casa vostra. La leggenda narra che il nome del locale viene dalla città di Salamanca , dove le nonnine che un tempo cucivano e cucinavano piatti semplici ma deliziosi ai nipoti erano conosciute proprio come Mary Mandiles . Ed è proprio quello che troverete anche qui: panini, insalate, piatti unici e tapas preparati con ingredienti semplici e appartenenti alla cucina povera, ma allo stesso tempo genuini, preparati con cura meticolosa dei dettagli e davvero imbattibili..insomma, .in un sol boccone vi ritroverete seduti al tavolo delle vostre nonne. Potrete assaggiare il menù del giorno dal lunedì al venerdì , oppure ordinare direttamente i piatti dalla carta.
