In the heart of Vienna, you can find a place where time seems to have stopped decades ago. If you are vintage lovers, this great shop is exactly what you need and you will fall in love with it. We are talking about “Flo Vintage Shop”, a place that during the last 35 years has been a reference point for international fashion. Situated at n° 15 of Schleifmühlgasse, in the heart of the Austrian capital, you cannot miss this shop if you’re in the fashion system because it offers a real archive of unique items (both clothes and accessories) dating back 1880-1980. And also the owner of the shop is unique in her genre: her name is Ingrid Raabe and she is a styled woman with the passion for fashion. After many years in the field of fashion, she decided to create a real “encyclopaedia” (or, if you prefer, archive) of rare fashion items, characterized by unique stories. If you are interested about something in the shop, Ingrid will be ready to answer to your questions and to satisfy your curiosity with an engaging story. For example, in the shop you will even find a bathing suit wore by Marilyn Monroe! But that’s not all: if you like a certain period in particular, Ingrid will show you what suits you best. In fact, in the shop you can really find everything you want, from sequins and fringe dresses, in perfect “flapper girl” style, directly from the ‘20es, to items of the post-war “New Look” proposed by Dior in the ‘50es; from the futuristic items in perfect Courreges ‘60es style, to the destructured blazers by Giorgio Armani; but also the legendary laced shoes by Chanel and the famous top by Paco Rabanne, made with metallic plates…(I literally fell in love with it)! In the last years, this shop became a fundamental stopover for many important people in the fashion system, who usually fix a date with Ingrid to take inspiration from the unique items exhibited or preserved in her warehouse (Ingrid is extremely kind and friendly). So what else can we say? Flo Vintage Shop is a heap of nostalgic charm but also a great source of inspiration for all future generations. So, if you’re fashion lovers like us, we strongly suggest to visit Vienna and to have a look at this great place; we’re sure that you won’t leave it without a “souvenir”! In fact, sometimes the less known cities in the fashion system can reveal nice surprises. Have a look at the website here below and let us know what you think about it!
