If you think to Dublin, what does it come to your mind? Temple Bar with its many pubs and, of course, pints of Guinness! But Dublin is much more than this! For example, if you’re street art lovers, Dublin is the place to be! Wandering around the city, just a few steps from the more touristic areas, you’ll discover the creative side of the Irish capital! In this post we’ll try to let you discover the many street art works that you can find if you don’t like the classical touristic paths. Since the early 80es, Dublin City Council has accepted the works of street art that cover the walls of many quarters of the city; nowadays they’re considered a way to express the contemporary culture and the creative young soul of the city. If you want to lose yourself in a coloured, unconventional atmosphere, you shouldn’t miss Smithfield and the Liberties, two lively areas where you can find a few tourists but many Dubliners and most of the street art works of the city. But also Temple Bar, the more touristic area known all over the world for its pubs and street musicians, hides many works by famous writers like Maser, Solus and other young talents.
