L'indirizzo? Via Silvio Pellico 18.
We just came back from our last trip, this time in Italy, and we are ready to show you a great place that we discovered during our weekend in Turin. After a long walk along the Po’s banks in the warm spring sun, after wandering around the huge and wonderful Parco del Valentino, we stopped for a while in a nice and cozy café called Teapot (tisaneria con cucina) and we immediately fell in love with this place. This is the perfect place for a relaxing break and, in the meanwhile, a great meal. This nice café is situated in a colored and open-minded quarter called San Salvario, which is one of the main places for the nightlife in Turin. It is a sort of tearoom where, during the weekend, you can also have lunch; it is a place unique in its genre: the atmosphere and the furniture perfectly reflect the style of the place, which is shabby chic. You will find a great range of nice pillows scattered everywhere, different and unique dishes and cups and….even a fireplace! Moreover, the staff is really nice and helpful and you will feel like home! When it could be better to have a break there? Of course, the breakfast is worth a visit because you will find a great range of teas and coffees (from the American coffee to the fresh Moroccan tea), but also smoothies made with fresh fruit, toasted bread with homemade butter and jam, and fresh local yogurt served with cereals and fresh fruit. But the strong point of the café is the Sunday brunch that we warmly suggest to try (as we did last Sunday when in Turin). You just have to choose among the savory dish and the sweet dish, or if you’re really hungry you can have both of them. Beaten eggs, bacon, a great range of quiches, pancakes served with maple syrup, homemade cakes (like the great gluten free cherry and apple pie…really yummy!) and so on… And the presentation of the dishes is no less so: a real symphony for your eyes, your mouth and your smell! But pay attention because the Sunday brunch at Teapot is a ritual for the people of the quarter, so it would be better to book a table if you want to be sure. A last note, all the dishes are homemade and all the products are local and organic and there are always vegan dishes or dishes for people with food intolerances. So, what else can we say? The proof of the pudding is trying this place! Where can you find it? The exact address is via Silvio Pellico 18, Turin.
