A bit far from Dublin’s busy and lively city centre, in the middle of Ireland’s nature, with the Ocean in front of you and the hills behind you....the sky is deep blue during this clear morning at the end of November, when the wind becomes biting... It is not the beginning of a book or an adventure, it is what we experimented few weeks ago in a lovely village called Howth, only 30 minutes far from Dublin by train, during one of our last trips abroad. But we will talk about Howth later, in another post (we’ll consecrate one of our posts at the section “looking around” to this charming place); now we want to suggest a lovely place where you could eat or have a break while in Howth. Situated on one of the main streets of this small village, this place is perfect for a break after a walk to discover the village and all the paths starting from there; so what could be better than a typical five o’ clock tea served with sweets and pastries, with the typical environment of the English countryside? Where can you find all that? At Marie Louise Tea Room, a little paradise in front of the sea, from where you can admire Howth’s little harbour. From outside you’ll notice this place which seems a doll house, while inside you’ll find a really cosy atmosphere, with vintage porcelain objects everywhere (tea cups and teapots with flowers in a perfect British style), low music, white tablecloths and nice waitresses with embroidered aprons who will welcome you. If you want to feel like a perfect British lady or lord, we sincerely suggest to have a break in this magic place and you won’t be disappointed. Moreover food is made from healthy ingredients and everything is home made. So if you’ve already fallen in love with this place, here is the address: Unit 2 Island View Harbor Road, Howth; and in the meanwhile, let’s have a look at their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/marielouisetearooms
