Come definirlo?
We’re sure that if you think to Belgium, the first (and maybe the only) city that will come to your mind is Bruxelles. But there is much more than the Belgian capital –the headquarter of European diplomacy- in this great country made of magical landscapes, picturesque towns and an emerging young culture, more and more creative. So today, we want to take you in one of the most important places for Belgian young people… Where? Our destination is Leuven. The reason is the fact that there are four prestigious universities in Leuven and the town has become a lively place, perfect for young people, with a lot of innovative and interesting bars and clubs. In this post, we’re dealing with one of this great places that we tried during our stay there. We’re talking about Bar Stan, situated at nr 2 of Constantin Meunierstraat: its friendly and cosy atmosphere, at the same time well-finished and a bit hipster, attracted us (but we already knew the place thanks to the advice of a friend who lives there)! How can we describe Bar Stan? We love the definition “gastropub” because it perfectly represents its essence: in a town where all the restaurants and pubs are almost the same, with the same featureless insides and mediocre food, this place is something different and we strongly recommend a stop-over there. At Bar Stan you will taste delicious home-made dishes at low prices, surrounded by vintage furniture, old-fashioned tables that look like school desks, vintage photos and posters at the walls and a lot of wood in the furniture. And here the food always goes along with good Belgian beer, in a friendly atmosphere typical of the most famous underground capitals. Which is the magic formula? In the daily menu, there are usually six dishes -written on an old blackboard- and everything is made with fresh, local ingredients, always different. So if we’ve stimulated your curiosity after reading this post, we suggest to have a break at Bar Stan for a beer and one of their great dishes. Otherwise, you could taste their great Sunday brunch, that we still haven’t tasted, but many people told us that it’s worth a visit! So what are you waiting for? Let’s try Bar Stan and then let us know what do you think about it. We can assure that you won’t regret!"
