Who has never seen the cult movie “The fabulous destiny of Amélie Poulain” directed by Jean Pierre Jeunet? If you have seen it, of course you were charmed by the sweet, dreamy atmosphere of Montmartre, where the story takes place. When we were in Paris, hanging around Montmartre, the artists’ quarter with all its little shops and cafés, we bumped into the Café les deux Moulins...If you don’t recognize it from its name, you’ll understand immediately when you’ll see it: it’s the café where Amélie works as a waitress:

Have you already recognised it? Situated at the crossroad between Rue Lepic and Rue Cauchois, halfway between the well-known Moulin Rouge and the Moulin de la Galette, the café can be recognised from its typical red curtain. But if you want to “taste” the real atmosphere of the film, let’s have a look inside. On the back wall, a big portrait of Amélie Poulain smiles at people seated inside. Also the toilettes are worth a visit: the walls are full of pictures representing the dwarf and you’ll see many objects taken from the movie set (for example the fabulous Piggy-Lamp)
