Here we are, back from our last journey in a great Spanish city, Valencia, with so many ideas for new posts for our blog! Today we’re going to deal with street art in Valencia. In the last few years, street art works are showing up everywhere in the third biggest Spanish city (after Madrid and Barcelona), that we can consider one of the main centres of “Urban Art”. That’s why, after 2 days spent on the typical touristic paths, we’ve decided to try something different and we’ve discovered so many street art works just wandering through the little streets of the city centre. The city is literally covered by graffiti and wall paintings, that you can find not only on the walls, but also on the doors or the shutters of shops: every urban element is taken as a surface where to paint. So let’s follow our suggestion if you want to discover something different after having seen the typical touristic places: let’s get away from the centre and just try to lose yourself among the charming “calles” and “barrios” (like el barrio del Carmen, one of the most characteristic), the most genuine and authentic part of the city, where you’ll admire great street art works realized by famous artists like Escif, Julieta, Deih and Cere. So Valencia is an eccentric, lively city where modern and ancient styles are mixed up thanks to a form of art that perfectly suits the coloured and happy atmosphere of the city. And if you’re great observers, you’ll discover that at every coin of the city there could be a street art work that tells a story, deals with dreams or could amuse yourself! So what are you waiting for? Let your Spanish street art adventure begin!
