If you think that fast foods are always unhealthy, we’re here to contradict you and to let you change your mind. The secret is an Irish fast food chain called Cafè KC Peaches, founded in Dublin in 2006 from an idea of Catie Kantwell, an American woman with a passion for food and cooking; she suddenly decided to change her life (she was a consultant in the US) moving from Seattle to Dublin, where her dream came true. The idea of KC Peaches comes from the fact that she likes healthy food and she wanted to diffuse this kind of food among people. She chose Dublin to open the first shops because Vincent Carrol, her commercial partner, has Irish origins and he also wanted to give an opportunity to people living and working in Dublin to eat healthy but at the same time quick and tasty food. Nowadays we can say that their mission is accomplished: Catie and Vincent changed the idea of quick food among people living in Dublin with their great range of simple but at the same time sophisticated food, always delicious! But what charmed us of this great place is the friendly and cosy atmosphere (and first of all, it was love at first time with the great desserts counter) and also the fact that all the food – from sandwiches to salads, from muffins to scones, from juices to coffee- is 100% natural and fresh, which means it doesn’t contain additives, preservatives and artificial flavours. All that is really great because it means that all the ingredients are fresh and produced locally and the results are really great! So when in Dublin, you can choose to have a relaxing break while wandering around the city centre or, if you’re in a hurry, the take-away service. We strongly recommend their great bagels and the cheap menus they usually propose. So please remember that if you’re planning a trip to Dublin, KC Peaches is a fundamental stop-over. We tasted the one that you can find at 54, Dame Street, but you can find three more in the city centre (and here are the addresses: 28, Nassau Street, 35-37, St Stephen’s Green and Pears Street, inside the Trinity Enterprise CentreI). So now it’s your turn to taste it; in the meanwhile, you can have a look at their website:
